You should use this form if you wish to report a concern about a registered patent or trade mark attorney, or a registered firm (“registered person”). You can check whether an attorney or firm is registered with IPReg by searching for them on our online register. IPReg cannot investigate concerns about attorneys or firms who are not on IPReg’s register(s).

We expect that in the first instance, complaints about a registered person are raised through the registered person’s complaints process. IPReg will usually only investigate a concern where the complaints process has not brought about an appropriate resolution. IPReg is not able to direct that a registered person pay compensation or refund fees.

It will usually be necessary to disclose your complaint to the registered person(s) concerned. We are usually not able to investigate concerns on a confidential or anonymous basis.
