Alicia Chantrey

Alicia Chantrey is Vice-President, Legal Brand Protection, Consumer Healthcare at GlaxoSmithKline.

Alicia has an MA (Biological Sciences) from The Queen’s College Oxford and after a short spell in the publishing industry, she decided to pursue a career in law. She is a dual qualified solicitor and registered trade mark attorney who trained and qualified with the city firm, Hogan Lovells.

In 2002, she moved to GlaxoSmithKline to join the trade mark team supporting the Consumer Healthcare business and embarked on her ITMA (now CITMA) exams becoming a Member of the Institute in 2004.

In her current role, she has overall responsibility for the team managing GSK’s Oral Care, Nutritional and Gastrointestinal Categories including key global brands and provides regional support to the European and AsiaPac business teams.

Alicia has provided support to a number of key strategic projects for GSK including sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Alicia has been a trade mark tutor for Queen Mary & Westfield College and has an active interest in diversity and inclusion issues regularly participating in events to encourage a more diverse legal profession.

Alicia also represents GSK at, and is the current Legal Chair of, the British Brands Group.
