After working in a series of increasingly challenging executive roles for UK and US blue chip automotive companies, Steve recently retired as the EMEA Managing Director for Delphi Diesel Systems. In this latter role he had P&L responsibility for business turnover in excess of £1bn and oversaw customer relationships as well as eight manufacturing operations in Western and Eastern Europe and three major technology centres, all engaged in the design, development and manufacture of high performance Diesel Fuel Injection systems for passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
He has served in a non-executive director role for overseas companies in India, Korea and Turkey and has extensive experience using high technology patents and licenses as a key strategy to develop new business opportunities in developing markets such as China and Russia.
A long-time, keen supporter of technology and skills development here in the UK, he has also been involved in a number of innovative training programs designed to encourage young people to become engineers and/or scientists, either at degree level or via apprenticeships.
Married, with 3 daughters and 4 (soon to be 5) grandchildren, Steve’s hobbies are collecting English Banknotes, Gardening, Classic Cars and Aircraft.
