Keith is a Chartered and European Patent Attorney and a Registered Trade Mark Attorney. He graduated in Engineering Science from Oxford University.
Keith joined the Carpmaels & Ransford partnership in 1984, became Senior Partner in 2003 and was the firm’s first elected Managing Partner in 2010. He retired from the partnership in 2014 and continues as a consultant to the firm. He was on the INTA Board of Directors from 2003 to 2005, and currently chairs the INTA Design Rights Subcommittee. He chairs the Trade Marks Committee of CIPA. He has maintained a mixed patent, design and trade mark practice throughout his career.
Away from professional life, Keith has been a keen and active sportsman, having gained hockey Blues and played some first-class cricket (unsuccessfully) while at Oxford. He still plays hockey at Tulse Hill & Dulwich HC, and looks forward to coaching his new granddaughter (whose parents are both hockey players) in the art of defending. Keith and his wife are both active in their local church.
