IPReg appoints new Chief Executive
I am pleased to be able to announce a major organisational revision to the Intellectual Property Regulation Board’s Executive Office (IPReg) and the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer, Fran Gillon, to lead IPReg.
After 8 years leading IPReg, Ann Wright feels her work building the organisation’s structure, with the associated systems and processes is largely completed. She has chosen this opportunity to stand down from her role and has recommended that a new CEO should lead the next phase of IPReg’s development. Following an assessment of the CEO’s current and future workload, the Board has decided to strengthen the executive team by the appointment of two senior executives: a CEO and a Head of Registration.
Effective from 1 August 2017, Fran joins us with a wealth of practical and pragmatic experience, in the legal services and regulatory environment, as result of a number of successful, key appointments in Ofgem, Postcomm, the Legal Services Board (LSB) and latterly as a Special Adviser at Slaughter & May. Fran is very capable of guiding the team and the profession through the challenges of the next few years as we build upon our reputation as one of the leading, innovative & effective regulators, whilst addressing the inevitable impact of Brexit and the changes required to meet the recommendations of the 2016 CMA legal services market study.
The Board is delighted to welcome Fran and looks forwards to working closely with her and the IPReg executive team.
We would also like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to Ann for her services and the strong foundation she has prepared. We wish her every success in the future.
Acting Chair, IPReg
